New Shows Rock at World Cafe Live  |

Next Tuesday, February 9th, Irish folk singer, Karan Casey with John Doyle will perform at World Cafe Live. Karan Casey has long been one of the most innovative provocative and imitated voices in Irish traditional and folk music. Her career has spanned twenty years from the early days as a jazz performer in Georges bistro in Dublin to her heady days in New York with the band Solas to her now blossoming solo career she has sold over half a million albums. Karan recently released her fifth solo album entitled Ships in the Forest on the Crow Valley Music label. Karan blends her jazz influences with her traditional Irish and folk background.
Also performing is John Doyle, and a recent 2010 Grammy nominee for "DOUBLE PLAY" - his collaboration with Liz Carroll, and member of Solas, who will be performing here on St. Patrick s Day.
Singer-songwriter Kristina Train will be performing with Matt Santry at World Cafe Live on Friday, February 12th. Train s Blue Note debut, Spilt Milk, produced by Jimmy Hogarth (James Blunt) is urbane and soulful, lush in its arrangements but intimate in its emotions, built on a foundation of classic and deeply felt southern soul.
