How to Avoid: Vacation Weight Gain!

How to Avoid: Vacation Weight Gain!We all wait and plan for our vacations. Vacations are a magic time when the daily routine gets put on hold and we’re able to enjoy each moment apart and separate from our everyday lives. But unfortunately, many of us when on vacation also put exercise and good eating habits on hold as well. This can result in some unexpected weight gain when returning from vacation.

Now I’m not suggesting everybody make their vacation all about exercise but by planning right, you can make sure you include exercise so you don’t have extra pounds to deal with when you get home. Consider some of the following suggestions:

Remember to squeeze exercise into your vacation day. I know there’s a lot you want to do or perhaps nothing you want to do on your vacation, but regardless of your vacation goals, be sure to plan at least thirty minutes a day of good solid exercise. Workout in the hotel gym, take some laps in the pool, or just stretch the legs on a good hike, it really doesn’t matter what you do, just make sure you get in a little exercise everyday.

Take control of your eating. While on vacation the temptation can be to indulge yourself on whatever the local cuisine has to offer. But remember to keep control. Eat normal portions and keep sweets to a minimum. Too many people just let anything go because, after all, they are on vacation, but the trick is not to avoid what you want, but rather to control the amount you eat. Keep your portions small and you should be okay.

Remember healthy choices. Again, because you’re on vacation the want to throw caution to the wind is always there. Just keep focusing yourself to remember health choices when planning meals. These days almost all restaurants offer healthy choices, just make sure you choose a few of them.

The whole point of a vacation is to enjoy yourself, and I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t. I am suggesting by making sure to you include exercise and by watching what you eat, you don’t have to come back from vacation a few pounds heavier than you went on vacation.
