Alice Cooper Among Top Rock Golfers
Alice Cooper is getting some recognition for his passion. The pioneering shock rocker just missed the top ten in the 2008 "Golf Digest" list of the top musician golfers, taking eleventh place on the list. But he's just one of a number of veteran stars making the cut. Huey Lewis follows at number 12, while Yes drummer Alan White and Dweezil Zappa are also in the top 20 and The Moody Blues' John Lodge, ZZ Top's Frank Beard, and The Doors' Robby Krieger help complete the top 25. Others in the list of 100 include The Eagles' Glenn Frey, former Eagle Don Felder, Bob Seger, Roger Waters, Journey's Jonathan Cain, Stephen Stills, Mick Fleetwood, Steve Miller, and Meat Loaf. Glen Campbell, Johnny Mathis, Smokey Robinson, and Charlie Daniels can also hold their own on the golf course. Country stars seem to be the best musician golfers, with seven of the top ten coming from the Nashville scene. |
