Country Music Hall Of Fame's New York City Benefit Grows
Additional talent is joining the lineup for the upcoming Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum benefit in New York City. The Band's former drummer Levon Helm and multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell are the latest to sign on for next week's "All for the Hall," joining Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, and Rodney Crowell for the fundraiser. Billy Bob Thornton will be on hand to host the event. This year's "All for the Hall" will take place at the Nokia Theater in New York's Times Square on October 15th.
Helm is no stranger to the country music community. He performed with Harris back in 1976 for The Band's "The Last Waltz" concert finale. He also appeared in the 1980 Loretta Lynn biopic "Coal Miner's Daughter," portraying the legendary country singer's dad. His most recent CD, "Dirt Farmer," took the Grammy this year for Best Traditional Folk Album, and last month he was named Artist of the Year by the Americana Music Association. Campbell and Helm often work together. His other country connections include performances with Harris and Willie Nelson. |
