Mindy McCready Apologizing To Mrs. Clemens, Trying To Stage Comeback
Mindy McCready is calling her affair with baseball great Roger Clemens one of her biggest mistakes. In an interview with the syndicated TV news magazine series "Inside Edition," the country singer says she's especially sorry for how her relationship with Clemens affected his wife.
Clemens has denied having an affair with McCready. But the singer says they began their relationship when she was 16 -- noting several years passed before it turned physical. She says it wasn't something they tried to hide, and they never snuck around or had a secret rendezvous, but would vacation together. McCready adds that she's the one who ended the affair, after she realized that Clemens was not going to leave his family for her.
McCready is now trying to get her career back on track. She was released from custody on Halloween after serving a month in jail on a probation violation, and calls life behind bars "humiliating" and "degrading." She recently made her post-jail performance debut, singing the National Anthem before a Nashville Broncos basketball game. McCready also recorded the new single, "I'm Still Here." |
