Randy Owen Shares Motivation Behind His Memoir
Randy Owen notes that he had some strong support when it came to writing his autobiography. The singer says his wife urged him to put his life experiences in print, explaining that she thought he had a unique and valuable story to tell.
In "Born Country," Owen shares how he came from being the son of a share cropper living in extreme poverty to becoming a country music superstar as a member of Alabama. Regarding his music, Owen adds that he was always very ambitious. He says that he didn't go a traditional route of joining a band in high school, because he wanted to do more than just play cover tunes. With Alabama, he was able to find some like-minded people who also wanted to make a mark with their own music. "Born Country" is in stores now. |
