Lawyer Says Jacko Will Testify Monday In Lawsuit
Pop superstar Michael Jackson plans to defend himself in court next week after all. The gloved one originally had his lawyer insist he was too sick to travel to a British court where he's being sued by a Bahrain prince. He'll likely testify on Monday. The 50-year-old King of Pop is being sued by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Khalifa, the second son of the king of Bahrain. Al-Khalifa says Jackson reneged on a contract to record a new album and write an autobiography. Jackson also allegedly owes al-Khalifa seven-million dollars after he paid for Jackson's legal fees and travel and other expenses. Jackson says there was no valid agreement and insists the payments were gifts. |
