Jason Mraz Fights For Equal Rights
Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz is a GRAMMY winner. The vocalist won the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance GRAMMY Sunday for his song "Make It Mine" from his "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things" album. He also won a GRAMMY for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for his song with Colbie Caillat, "Lucky." While backstage at the 52nd Annual Awards show, Mraz was talking about why the cause of marriage equality is important to him. Mraz also says, quote, "Being involved in those projects, and then going home and writing music, you know, I don't write about obvious issues. But I let those issues inspire me and influence me so that I can continue to write music that empowers people to make positive choices in their lives." Mraz has a few special causes at the moment. He's supporting a "special night of music" called Cord Progression. The event takes place on February 27th at the Long Beach Terrace Theater in Long Beach, California and supports Spinal Cord Injury Awareness. Mraz is also selling t-shirts at JasonMraz.com to benefit the Haiti relief efforts of the Partners In Health charitable organization.
