Danny Gokey's Rep Offers Wedding Date, Details On Proposal, Ring
Danny Gokey and his bride-to-be have set a wedding date. The singer's rep tells People.com the couple will tie the knot in a ceremony on January 29th. The spokesperson is also sharing details on Gokey's proposal. Danny and Leyicet Peralta became engaged in Miami. The former "American Idol" finalist popped the question to cap off a special day for Leyicet, which included an intimate, oceanside dinner, a ballet, and a final stop at the site of their first date. During his proposal Gokey sang "You Are So Beautiful" to Leyicet, because he knew the song is special to her.
However, while she said "yes" to the proposal, she had to say "no" to the ring because it was too big for her. In shopping for a new ring they were looking for the right fit as well as the right price. The rep explains that they're both committed to Sophia's Heart, the charity Danny established in memory of his late first wife, so they "wanted to make sure they spent their money wisely." Danny and Leyicet announced their engagement with a post on the Sophia's Heart website on Christmas Day. |
